The annual staff of Appling County High School would like to invite everyone to come out on February 22 for the 46th Annual Miss Pirate Pageant. 2013 Miss Pirate, Anna Hodges, will be crowning the new 2014 Miss Pirate. Anna is the 19-year old daughter of Randy and Pam Hodges. She captured the crown her senior year. Contestants include: Madeline Rentz, Shelby Williams, Alexis Sellers, Rachel Snow, Logan Baker, Lauren Kirksey, Amanda Hawkins, Darienne Coleman, Amber Overstreet, Synclair Copeland, Marley Melton, Madison Green, Stormi Smith, Maysi Campbell, Brittney Perez, Kenley Lamb, Karson Spell, Carolina Kersey, Ali Marie Meadows, and Taylor Carter.

During the evening the top five Mr. Pirate contestants- Cody Fearington, Justin Moore, Campbell O’Steen, Carlos Rooks, and Connor Simmons -will be vying for the title of 2014 Mr. Pirate. Both the Miss Pirate pageant and the Mr. Pirate competition are fundraisers for the ACHS Pirate yearbook. Last year, the Mr. Pirate contestants raised enough money to purchase bulletin boards which were placed around campus.
The pageant starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Appling County High School Fine Arts Center. Admission is $5 at the door.
