The Gothard Sisters make up a dynamic Irish music and dance group form the Pacific Northwest. The three sisters perform and record new Celtic arrangements of well-known traditional tunes and songs, as well as their own original compositions. They have six recorded studio albums. They include the exciting rhythms of Irish step dancing into tightly choreographed, high-energy variety shows.
Greta Gothard is trained classically as a violinist and started playing at the age of five. Willow Gothard learned to play the violin at an early age, but she has since added a bodhran, a mandolin, an octave mandolin, and some vocals to her ever-expanding musical toolbox. The third sister, Solana Gothard, started training as a classical violinist at the age of three. She’s the lead singer for the sisters.
The sisters have performed around the country at Celtic and folk music festivals, state and county fairs, schools, theaters and in concert series of all sizes. Their show is joyful and exuberant, full of surprises and leaves audiences refreshed and inspired. The Arts Council of Appling County invites everyone to come out and enjoy an evening of Irish song and dance.
