Dr. Scarlett Miles Copeland reported this week that the Appling County Board of Education and Appling County School System are moving forward in a positive direction regarding eSPLOST Projects. The most current projects will include the Bus Maintenance Facility and Athletic Facility Upgrades.
Superintendent Copeland again thanks the public for supporting eSPLOST IV efforts with an 80% pass rate approximately two years ago. During this time, the “Friends of Education” were formed and worked in conjunction with Superintendent Copeland, the Board of Education, and the schools. The purpose of these groups was to propose projects and seek public input. Approximately 10 civic organizations were visited by Superintendent Copeland during this time to present current eSPLOST IV Projects. These projects were also discussed at local Board of Education meetings.
The district is proud to begin these new projects for the school system. The Athletic Facility Upgrade is expected to be completed prior to the first home football game in the fall. The Bus Maintenance Facility should commence completion before next school year as well.
