Patsy Hodges Brooker, 65, of Bristol, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at her home under the care of Southern Care Hospice.The Wayne County native was a member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church. She was an LPN for many years, caring for the people in Covington, Eatonton and Wayne County. She enjoyed crafting, cake decorating and family camping trips. She was predeceased by her parents, Willie Smith Hodges and Louise Moore Hodges.
Survivors are her husband of 48 years, Leland Brooker of Bristol; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sherry and Vic Brantley of Baxley, Tina Brooker of Jesup; a son, Leland Michael Brooker of Townsend; a sister, Martha and the late, Gross Helmes of Eatonton; seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Betty Hodges, Vernon Hodges, Gary and Brenda Hodges, David and Shelia Hodges, all of Jesup, Roland and Frances Hodges of Loganville, Timmy and Kimberly Hodges of Canton, Allen and Trina Hodges of Bloomingdale; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funerals services were at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 23 at Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Hughes and the Rev. Parnell Aldridge officiating. Interment was in the Piney Grove Cemetery in Bristol.
Active pallbearers were Greg Goff, Shannon Hodges, William Helmes, Lester Spell, Ryan Hodges and Matt Vaughn.
Visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the funeral home.
