Richard Leon Johnson
Richard Leon Johnson, 53, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 in the Appling Healthcare System. Richard was born Aug. 19, 1957 in Appling County and had resided here all of his life. He was a self-employed painter. Richard was the son of the late Seletia Agnes Johnson.
Survivors include one son, Richard Anthony Poole of Baxley; one sister, Marie Gill and husband, Aubrey of Baxley; two brothers, Rommie Wilson Johnson Lamb and wife, Martha of Griffin and Philip Arnold Daniels and wife, Carolyn of Pell City, AL; Rhonda Poole of Baxley, the mother of Richard Anthony, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 6 in the chapel of David E. Miles Funeral Home with Kelvin Skinner and the Rev. Patricia Skinner officiating. Interment followed in Zoar Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jason Carter, Ricky Hall, Roger Williams, William Tomberlin, Shaun Lee and Jimmie Carter.
Musical selections were rendered by C.D. selections.
Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
