During a meeting of the Baxley-Appling County Hospital Authority, held on December 30, it was announced that on December 27 Appling HealthCare System received word from the State of Georgia that the system would be awarded a Certificate of Need to allow for expansion of the Senor Care Unit. This Certificate of Need will allow the system to now treat up to 30 patients at one time in the Senior Care Unit.
Minutes and financials were presented and approved.
COO of Pinnacle Health Group Michel Broxterman made a presentation to board members regarding physician recruitment.
The authority voted to enter into an executive session to discuss items of an exempt nature. No action was reported taken following the closed session.
Board members present at the meeting included Jesse Alderman, Mark Barnes, Lisa Courson, John Glenn, Virginia Herrington, Peggy Miles, Paul Rentz and Steve Worthington. Staff present at the meeting included Revenue Cycle Consultant Ray Leadbetter, Pavilion Administrator Melba Webb and Board/Medical Staff Coordinator Tina Johnson. An ex-officio board member was also present, John Crane, MD, Chief of Staff.
