Sheriff Benny DeLoach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
May 1, warrants were secured on Mark Bryant Jr. and Jorge Arreguin from a previous theft case. Both Bryant and Arreguin were arrested and charged with theft by taking for stealing aluminum rims and some “A” coil from a residence.

May 1, answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated she and the offender got into a verbal dispute and he became very irate.
May 1, answered a call to Miles Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated that the offender ran into her mailbox while turning around on Miles Road.
May 1, answered a call to Bethel Church Road in reference to lost property. A complainant stated his wife placed a gun on the top of the car and went to town and it fell off. The gun has been entered into GCIC as missing.
May 2, a Clyde Vernon Daniels was arrested for failure to register on the Sex Offender Registry.
May 2, answered a call to Cook Street in reference to harassment. A complainant stated the offender had been calling continuously and making threats. The complainant was advised to see magistrate.
May 2, answered a call to Cook Street in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated the offender had been drinking and became very irate. At time of the officer’s arrival the offender was asked to leave the residence.
May 2, answered a call to Varnadore Lane in reference to a vehicle fire. Officer responded to a call in reference to a dispute. Upon arrival officers noticed a subject trying to put the vehicle fire out. The Red Oak Fire Department responded.
May 2, answered a call to Spring Branch Church Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated that unknown person(s) had removed some parts from a motor. Investigation continues.
May 2, answered a call to Ten Mile Highway in reference to harassment. A complainant stated his ex-wife had taken out a restraining order on him but she continued calling and harassing him. The complainant stated he had spoken to the magistrate judge about the matter.
May 3, answered a call to Holmesville Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated person(s) unknown cut eleven fence grounding rods. Investigation continues.
May 3, answered a call to Parkers in Surrency in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated her husband was drunk and became irate and hit her. The complainant was advised to see magistrate.
May 3, answered a call to Golden Isles East in reference to an accident. Upon arrival the officer noticed a blazer parked inside of the Surrency Food Mart. Lester Smith, age 74, of Surrency, was arrested and charged with DUI and expired driver’s license.
May 3, answered a call on San Marco Drive in reference to theft by taking. Person unknown stole checks from the complainant and cashed them. Investigation continues.
May 3, answered a call on KVille Highway in reference to a theft. Person(s) unknown had been tearing down a chicken house on his farm and stealing materials from the area. Investigation continues.
May 4, answered a call to Zoar Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated that someone unknown took an old boat trailer from her residence. Investigation continues.
May 4, answered a call to Branch Road in reference to identity theft. A complainant stated person(s) unknown gained access to her debit card account and has made withdrawals. Investigation continues.
May 4, answered a call on Golden Isles Highway in reference to a missing person. The subject that was reported missing has since been located.
May 5, answered a call to Buckhead Road in reference to a domestic. A complainant stated that she had moved in with the offender and wanted to leave. The offender doesn’t want the complainant to take the child with her.
May 5, answered a call to Dunham Lane in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated he and the offender got into a verbal argument. The complainant was advised to see magistrate.
May 6, answered a call on Hovis Road in reference to burglary. Subject(s) unknown broke into residence and took a lap top computer, Play Station 3 and a cell phone. Arrested in connection with this incident was Curtis Jacob Russell, age 18, of Surrency, and Ratavious Futch, age 19, of Odum. Both subjects were charged with burglary and are both currently being held in the detention center.
May 6, answered a call on Mincey Lane in reference to criminal damage to property. Damaged were several cedar trees at the residence.
May 7, answered a call on Crosby Chapel Church Road in reference to theft by taking. Several tools were taken from a toolbox. Investigation continues.
May 7, answered a call on Oak Ridge Road in reference to a dog case. A complainant stated that the offender shot a dog that had been thrown out at the residence. The dog was aggressive and was trying to bite people.
May 7, answered a call on Central Street in reference to an unwanted persons trying to speak with a child at a residence. The complainant was advised to see magistrate in reference to good behavior warrant.
May 8, a routine traffic stop on Brobston Street/West Allen Street resulted in the arrest of Steven Fletcher, age 45, and Christopher Knight, age 20, both of Baxley. Fletcher was charged with drug related objects, seatbelt violation and possession of marijuana, and Knight was charged with possession of marijuana, tag light requirement and seatbelt violation.
May 8, answered a call on Gardner Road in reference to reckless driving. A vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and hit a dog.
May 8, answered a call on Anna Lee Road in reference to dog case. Someone poisoned the complainant’s dog and the dog was found deceased.
May 8, a routine traffic stop on Hwy 144/Ed Carter Road resulted in the arrest of BradleyWilliams age, 35, of Baxley. Williams was charged with DUI, suspended license, and failure to maintain lane. Williams is currently being held in the detention center.
