Miles-Nobles Funeral Homes announces the death of Vince Lane “Buddy” Combee, 16, who passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013. He was a tenth grade student at Appling County High School and a member of Memorial Freewill Baptist Church. He was an outdoorsman; loved hunting, especially hog and deer hunting and loved his dogs, Dan, Bronco and Comanche. He was preceded in death by his dog, Peanut.
Survivors include his parents, Vincent and Sherry Combee; five sisters, Rhonda Hartzog “Dinky”, Roxann Gunter “Skeeter”, Kelly Smith Martin “Cowtail”, Katie Combee “Katie Doolittle” and Larinna Combee “Nana”; one stepbrother, Timothy Combee; two stepsisters, Debra Ann Kepler and Yvonne Feithtel; an aunt, Bernice Harper; an uncle and aunt, Terry and Hilda Combee; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.
Visitation was held Thursday, December 5 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Memorial Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 5 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Freewill Baptist Church with the Reverend Carl Sexton and the Reverend Amos McMillan officiating.
Active pallbearers were Sam Mock, Joe Smith, Timothy Combee, Buddy Thornton, Kyle Thornton and Ray Reese.
Honorary pallbearers were the Tenth Grade Class of Appling County High School.
