Roy Omer Aldridge, age 72, of Alma died Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Bacon County Hospital in Alma. Aldridge was born December 17, 1940 in Bacon County to the late Thomas Omer and Myrtie Mae Hersey Aldridge. He was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and was employed by General Housing. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Mae Crosby Aldridge and a brother, Harry Aldridge.
Survivors include his daughters, Janet (Tommy) Courson, Cindy (Keith) Simmons and Lori (Colby) Barber all of Alma, son, John Campbell of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters, Merle SoSebee of Alma and Faye Stanley of Florida; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 14, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Williamson officiating.Interment followed in Satilla Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Wayne Crosby, Greg Carter, Raymond Crosby, Ronnie Crosby, Henry Crosby and Linton Deloach.
Honorary pallbearers were all in attendance.
Musical selections were rendered by Lynn Crosby.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
