W.L. “Dub” Griffis, 81 of K-Ville died Thursday, October 31, 2013 in the Golden Living Center after an extended illness. The Appling County native attended Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He loved to fish and spend time with his precious grandson. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Ellie Fern Griffis; a brother, Clifton Griffis; and a granddaughter, Ashleigh Griffis.
Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Colene Tyre Griffis of K-Ville; a son and daughter-in-law, George and Bobbie Jo Griffis of K-Ville; a grandson, Wesley Griffis of K-Ville; a brother, Earl Griffis of K-Ville and a niece, Pam Robinson.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Lightsey officiating. Interment was in the Big Creek Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Tommy Youmans, Ardle Lightsey, Jessie Lightsey, Willard Lightsey, Lonnie Lightsey and Tommy Tyre.
Visitation was from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
