Jacquelyn “Jackie” Tootle, 67, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 in Appling Healthcare System. Jackie was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County and was born June 11, 1943 to the late Lawrence and Fannie Marie Hendrix Copeland. She was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. Mrs. Tootle was retired from Ship & Shore and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Tootle and Jina McDonald, both of Baxley; one son, Jeff Tootle of Baxley; one sister, Joyce Mathis of Atlanta; two brothers, Johnnie Copeland and Jerry Copeland, both of Baxley; three grandchildren, Brandon McDonald, Brandy Fennell and Cody McDonald and a great-grandchild, Riley Fennell.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21 in the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Revs. Robert Black and Justin McLellan officiating. Interment followed in Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Eric Carter, Allen Copeland, Kip Davis, Gary Mathis, Robin Hopkins and Tim Copeland.
Honorary pallbearers were Ann Bowen, Charles Griffin, Rabon Hand, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hunter, Carolyn Weaver, Annette Williamson, Mike and Shelia Rentz, Orvil Barnes, employees of Stan’s Pharmacy, Dr. Orlando Fernando and staff of Appling Healthcare System and members of Philippi Baptist Church.
Musical selections were rendered by Shonda Evans and Brittney Perez.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
