On Thursday, October 10, Georgia School Superintendent John Barge will visit selected counties in the state of Georgia. Scarlett Copeland, Superintendent of Appling County Schools, is pleased to announce that Appling County High School has been chosen as a part of these tours.
During this event, Dr. Barge and Department of Education representatives will tour the facility and have lunch with leaders, teachers, students, and staff members. This event is a part of the “Georgia’s Future. Now!” movement. The Georgia Department of Education, along with educators, community members, and business leaders, has initiated this movement as a research-based revolution. For this initiative, schools were chosen that serve as living examples of what works for teachers to prepare all Georgia students for college and careers. School officials stated that Appling County School System is honored to be selected as a tour site to serve as an example of what works in education.
