Funeral services for James Patrick Paulk, Sr. were held Saturday, September 28, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at the Thankful New Jersey Baptist Church, Baxley. The Reverend B.J. Virgil is the Pastor, Apostle Lorraine Drake, presided and the Reverend Terrell Paulk was the eulogist. Interment followed at the First Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery in Baxley.
James Patrick Paulk, Sr. passed on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Appling Healthcare System. Paulk was born in Norwalk, Connecticut to Mrs. Dorothy P. Paulk and the late George “Junebug” Paulk, Jr. on January 16, 1964.
In addition to his father, Paulk was preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Brewer Paulk; grandparents, Herbert (Marie) Page and George (Margaret) Paulk, Sr.; brothers, George Paulk III and Levon Page; and a sister, Vanessa Paulk Martin.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Paulk; sons, Dewayne (Kenyetta) Harris, Sr. of Atlanta, James (Renee) Paulk, Jr., Derek Paulk and Quintin (Tina) Thomas all of Baxley and Chris Paulk of Valley City, North Dakota; daughters, Indi Paulk of Baxley and Shayla Thomas of Atlanta; brothers, Michael (Polly) Page of Fairmont, N.C., Chester Paulk, Tyrone (Teresa) Paulk and James (Tia) Harrell; sisters, Valeria Paulk and Dorothy (Jessie) Woolfork all of Baxley; an uncle, Andrew (Agnes) Paulk of Springfield, Mass.; aunts, Rosie Paulk of Baxley and Elizabeth Page of Fairmont, N.C.; sister-in-law, Scavia Paulk and brother-in-law, Dwight Martin of Baxley; grandchildren, Jessika Aniyan, Dewayne, Jr., Ja’kylon, all of Atlanta; five great grandchildren, and a very special friend, Chevelle Simpson; four other favorite friends, Johnny (Beth) Howard, Johnny (Charlotte) Drake, Quintin (Gwen) Roberson, all of Baxley, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Musical selections were rendered by Tammy Richburg, Natassa Jones, Keith Hill, Jr. and the Baxley Community Choir.
Active pallbearers were Latrez Reddish, Hymic Paulk, George Paulk, James Lee Paulk, Faladen Brewer and Stanley Edwards
Honorary pallbearers were John Lee Drake, Ellis Williams, Freddie Brewer, Leon Drake, Larry Goggins, Sr. and Cleveland Green
