Willie Mae Cranford McCall, 91, died on Sept. 12, 2013 at 391 Miles Road in Baxley. Willie Mae was born Oct. 24, 1921 in Eastman to the late Blanton Cortez Cranford and the late Eunice Taylor Cranford. She was married to the late Lorace Edgar McCall. She was a devoted mother to her children. Mrs. McCall was a 76-year resident of Appling County.
Survivors include one daughter, Judith Ann McCall of Baxley; one son, Larry Edwin (Vickie) McCall of Baxley; one sister, Eloise Cranford of Baxley, one brother, Carlton Cranford of Baxley; one sister-in-law, Carolyn McCall of Baxley; two grandchildren, Major Eric McCall of Williamsburg, Virginia and Captain Christopher (Tina) McCall of Mary Esther, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Kensley and Luke McCall of Mary Esther, Fla. and seven nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Swain Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Keith Alderman, Glynn Cranford and Darrell Quinn officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Eric McCall, Chris McCall, Doug Doyle, Ken Lewis, Ethan Lewis and Chris Hurst.
Honorary pallbearers were the members of Queen Esther Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, the staff of Community Home Care and all others in attendance.
Remembrances may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Musical selections were rendered by Claire Tanner and Tommy Jordan.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
