Thomas Dalton Westberry, 60, of Surrency, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah. Westberry was born May 13, 1953 in Jesup to the late Thomas Westberry and the late Edna Scott Westberry. He was a member of Emmanuel Holiness Church of Jesup where he was an active chair member of the Emmanuel Holiness Conference. Westberry was employed by Harris Waste Management as a welder.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Westberry of Surrency; one daughter, Ashley Daniels of Baxley; three sons, Cecil Dalton Westberry of Cottageville, S.C., David Cecil Westberry and Joseph Paul Westberry, both of Surrency; four sisters, Doris Hopkins of Screven, Mable Marr of Jesup, Faye Duncan of Dalton and Kathleen Reveal of Jesup; three brothers, Carl Thomas Westberry of Tennessee, Walton Westberry and Thomas Westberry, both of Waycross; and three grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1 at Swain Funeral Home with the Reverends Frank Davidson and Lonnie McCall officiating. Interment followed in Surrency City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were James Hopkins, Michael Hopkins, Toby Davidson, Robert Flowers, Charles Hopkins and Emmit Moody.
Honorary pallbearers were Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Flowers, Kenny Driggers, Eugene Roach, Jason Yawn, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Shuptrine, Horace Creel and Chase Driggers.
Musical selections were rendered by John Mansfield and Bernett Driggers.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
