Sheriff Benny DeLoach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
On April 15, answered a call on Morris Landing Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated that a 14-foot aluminum Craft boat, a black Frigid Air refrigerator, a fish cooker with gas tank, a Sanyo 32-inch black TV, and an assortment of gardening tools were taken from the residence. Investigation continues.
April 16, a routine traffic stop on Patterson Road resulted in the arrest of Lacy Vaughn Odell, age 29, of Kingsland. Odell was charged with possession of marijuana and drug related objects.
April 16, answered a call to Faulk Road in reference to threats. A complainant stated the offender threatened to kill him. The complainant was advised to see the magistrate.
April 16, answered a call to Williams Drive in reference to a fire. A complainant stated she was in her room and heard a crackling noise. The complainant stated she then stepped to the front door and realized her front porch was on fire. The complainant stated she was unsure of how the fire started.
April 17, answered a call to Poplar Lane in reference to a theft. A complainant stated that offender(s) stole her HP computer. Rocky Jacobs, age 25, of Baxley, and Jacqueline Turner, age 22, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with theft by taking.
April 18, answered a call on Ross Street in reference to a dog case. Two dogs belonging to offender came into complainant’s yard and tore items from the clothes line and chased several cats.
April 18, answered a call on Azalea Road in reference to a possible fight. Upon the arrival of officers, they found Sang Thai, age 43, and Ernest Roberson, age 35, both of Hazlehurst, had been fighting with each other, because of remarks made to Roberson’s wife. Both Thai and Roberson were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and were transported to the detention center.
April 19, answered a call to Noah Lane in reference to a fight. A complainant stated that a known offender was drunk and was yelling and cursing very loudly. Timothy Mercer, age 49, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
April 20, answered a call to Davis Landing Road in reference to harassment. A complainant stated known offender(s) keep coming to her residence and making threats.
April 20, answered a call to Ten Mile Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated that unknown offenders had stolen a hayfork and an old freezer. Investigation continues.
April 20, answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated that unknown offender(s) broke into his residence, but nothing was missing. Investigation continues.
April 21, answered a call to Ben Carter Road in reference to threats. A complainant stated the known offender had threatened them. The complainant was advised to see the magistrate.
April 21, answered a call to Highway 144 in reference to a dispute. A complainant stated that a known offender tried to run over him.
April 21, answered a call to Lake Mayers Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated he met a vehicle on the roadway and it slung a rock and hit his vehicle putting a dent in the hood.
April 21, answered a call to Pickett Road in reference to battery. A complainant stated that a known offender had hit her. The complainant was advised to see the magistrate office.
April 22, answered a call to Lakeview Drive in reference to child custody. A complainant stated his ex-wife refused to give him the children for visitation. The complainant was advised to see his lawyer.
April 22, deputies responded to a vehicle failing to stop circling the helipad, which resulted into a pursuit of the vehicle. A short time later the vehicle was abandoned and the driver eluded officers. Investigation continues.
