Merl S. Coe, of Meridian, formerly of St. Marys, peacefully slipped into the arms of her heavenly father on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Hospice of the Golden Isles, Brunswick.
Merl was born in Baxley to the late W.H. and Lois Sellers on November 25, 1926. She received her Christian training from her family and Zion Baptist Church in Baxley. Merl shared her life as a wife to Curtis Coe for almost 65 years. Merl was much more than a housewife and loving mother; she also owned a fabric shop in St. Mary’s and was extremely talented in all types of crafts and sewing. She was delighted in sharing her crafts with others, as a ministry and loved by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband: Curtis Coe of Meridian; daughters: Hilda Brazell, Pat Rowell (Mike) and her son: Randy Coe (Myra); her grandchildren: Chuck Brazell, Chris Brazell, Tisha Rowell, Valarie Cook (Jeremy) and Ashley Corning (Tim); her great grandchildren: Noah and Elora Corning; her brother: William Holt Sellers (Nova Deen); her sister-in-law: Wynette Sellers and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Louise Knight, Hazel Malone, Dwayne Sellers, Wade Sellers and William Doris Sellers.
The family received friends on Monday, May 27, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Her Celebration of Life Service was at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Williamson officiating. Burial followed at Zion Cemetery in Baxley.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Hospice of the Golden Isles, Brunswick. Arrangements were under the direction of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, www.edomillerandsons.com.
