The Baxley Police Department reports on May 19 at approx. 3:01 a.m., responded to a call at the Appling County HealthCare System Emergency Room in reference to a stabbing. On arrival officers met with a victim who was receiving medical attention for a stab wound in the chest area. He stated that he and his wife had got into an argument and during which she stabbed him with a screwdriver. Arrested in connection with this incident was Codie Rebecca Quinn, 22, of Baxley, on charges of one count simple assault.
May 2 at approximately 11:46 a.m., answered a call to Citi Trends in reference to a theft. On arrival the clerk told officers that a subject had taken some items and left without paying for them. A brief search of the area resulted in the subject being detained nearby. Arrested in connection with this theft was Cedric Gibson, 29, of Lumber City, on charges of one count theft by shoplifting. The stolen items were returned back to the store.
May 4 at approx. 1:48 p.m., met with a complainant at the Pawn Express in reference to recovery of some stolen items. On arrival the complainant told officers that his home had been broken into and some items went missing, and he had found some of them at the pawnshop. Investigation led to warrants being issued for Stephanie Clayton, 42, of Hazlehurst, in connection with this incident.
