Thomas Milton Black, 86, died Monday morning (May 13, 2013) at Woodleaf Assisted Living in Thomasville after an extended illness.
He was born in Cartersville to the late Hubert E. Black and Fannie Saggus Black. Milton retired from Atlanta Gas and Light after 40 years of service, and he served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church where he served on the Altar Guild of the Episcopal Eucharist for many years. He was also an avid fisherman.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Black; and one sister, Frances Hannon.
Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Van Winchaber (Dick) of Rochester, NY, Kell Black of Nashville, TN, Ashley Black-Warney of Rochester, NY, and Eddie Hannon of Orlando, FL; and one sister-in-law, Patricia Mackey of Florida.
A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday (May 16, 2013) at Grace Episcopal Church with the Rev. Kit Brinson officiating.
