Fred R. Brannan, 59, of Baxley, died Monday, April 29, 2013 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. He was a native of Toombs County and lived there until moving to Baxley in 2000. He was employed with the former Glenn’s Texaco for thirty years, attended the Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons, and was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hattie Juanita Tootle Brannan.
Brannan is survived by his wife, Dorothy Brannan of Baxley; four children, Tammy Ward of Baxley, John Ward and Karen of Cedar Crossing, Richard Ward and Donna of Baxley, and Michael Ward and Sara of Screven; one sister, Betty Phelps of Lyons; four brothers, William Brannan of Jacksonville, Florida, James Brannan and Sue, Norman Brannan, and Willie Brannan, all of Baxley; brother-in-law, Wilbur Seckinger, sister-in-law, Mary Seckinger; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces nephews, including Bethany Pittman.
The funeral service was held Thursday, May 2 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with the Reverend Wayne Rountree and Pastor Reece Mincey officiating. Burial followed in Pinecrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Josh Ward, Eric Kerns, Robert Phelps, Justin Moore, Fred Ely, Dean Fish, Eric Ward, Jason Ward, Miranda Moore and Michael Ward, Jr.
Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home of Vidalia was in charge of arrangements.
