Brown Funeral Home announces the death of Allifair Williams Jones on Monday morning, March 25, 2013 at the University of Miami Vistas Hospice following an extended illness. Mrs. Jones was born in Baxley on Sunday, May 27, 1923 to the late James Campfield and the late Irene Floyd Williams. She attended the Baxley Training School. Allifair was united in holy matrimony to the late Perry Jones. She was a member of St. Paul African Methodist Church in Miami where she served as a loyal and dedicated Usher.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her children, Gloria Jones and Lenard Jones, both of Miami, Fla.; four sisters, Jerelene Barron of Miami, Fla., Ophelia (Eugene) Walker of Baxley, Versie L. Brown of Atlanta and Zora E. Brown of Miami, FL; one brother, Charles (Carrie) Williams Jr. of Baxley; three grandchildren: Justas “Mike” Robinson, Sr., Harold Sands and Perry J. Watson; two great-grandchildren, Malikhy Sands and Justas Robinson, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and countless friends.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. March 30 from St. James AME Church in Baxley with the Rev. Douglas B. Stinson presiding and Bishop Lucious B. Rogers officiating. Interment followed in Miles Cemetery in Baxley.
Active pallbearers were grandsons and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were staff of University of Miami Hospital Vistas Hospice.
The choir rendered musical selections.
Arrangements were under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
