Mr. and Mrs. Michael Edward Harris of Memphis, Tennessee, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Mary Elizabeth Wilkes Harris to Mr. Andrew Tollison Yonchak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory John Yonchak (former Barbara Karen Barnes) of Louisville, Georgia.
Miss Harris is the granddaughter of Mrs. Elbert Hays Wilkes and the late Dr. Elbert Hays Wilkes of Little Rock, Arkansas, and the late Col. and Mrs. Paul Day Harris of Yazoo City, Mississippi. She is a 2005 graduate of Samford University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in History, and a 2011 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she received her Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. She is an ESL Teacher at Huntingtowne Farms Elementary in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Mr. Yonchak is the grandson of Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Barnes, Jr. and the late Mr. Thomas Jefferson Barnes, Jr. of Baxley and Mrs. Stephen Joseph Yonchak and the late Mr. Stephen Joseph Yonchak of Louisville, Georgia. He is a 2005 graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, and a 2009 graduate of the University Of Georgia School Of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate. He is an attorney practicing with the law firm of Parker Poe Adams and Bernstein LLP in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The wedding is planned for 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee.
