Kenneth George Shope
Kenneth George Shope, of Hazlehurst, died April 6, 2011 at Community Hospice House in Vidalia. He was born in Dillsburg, PA on May 7, 1936 and moved to Hazlehurst November 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hench Shope; two daughters, Sharon Hamilton of Hazlehurst and Susan Kirsic and her husband, Danny of Cartersville and one son, Kenneth Alan Shope and his wife, Mary Ellen of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; three grandchildren, Robert N. Weiner and wife, Lolita of Hazlehurst, Steven C. Hamilton and his wife, Danielle of Hazlehurst and Meghan K. Bird and her husband, Chad of Atlanta; two great-grandchildren, Maggie Michelle Weiner and Peyton Christopher Hamilton of Hazlehurst; a brother, Terry Lee and wife, Barbara Shope of Ocala, FL; one sister, Marilyn Jean and her husband, Thomas Helmus of Palm Coast, FL; and three nephews and one niece also survive.
There will be a memorial service at First United Methodist Church; 41 Tallahassee Street in Hazlehurst on May 7 in the fellowship hall from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Our friends are invited to attend.
