Hamilton, Herrington, Fenton were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. Paige and Tomberlin are charged with methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. Other arrests are forthcoming.
Due to the kinds of charges the defendants will have to appear before a Superior Court Judge for bond.
Other incidents
On March 8, deputies answered a call to Hart Street, Surrency, in reference to a domestic. A girlfriend and boyfriend had a verbal dispute, which led to an altercation. The boyfriend had left the residence before an officer arrived.
March 8, answered a call to Dunn’s Lake in reference to a theft. The complainant stated an unknown person(s) had stolen his 13ft. aluminum jon boat. Investigation continues.
March 9, answered a call to Howard Brannen Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated taken from his residence was a set of two row turn plows, valued at approximately $750.00. Investigation continues.
March 9, answered a call to Buck Head Road in reference to damage to property. A landlord stated a renter of her property had damaged the house after leaving. She wishes for renter to pay for damages done to house.
March 10, answered a call to Veal Camp Road in reference to a domestic. A boyfriend and girlfriend had a verbal dispute over personal property. Both were advised they could press charges.
March 11, answered a call to George Craven Road in reference to an affray. A husband and wife had an altercation and stated they are in the process of a separating. The husband left the residence to keep from further confrontation.
March 11, answered a call to Fire Tower Road in reference to damage to property. The complainant stated a subject had run over his planted pine trees. The complainant wants offender to pay for damages and to stay off his property.
March 11, answered a call to Dolphus Lane in reference to criminal trespass. A complainant stated he has asked a subject not to return to his property numerous times, and the subject refuses to comply.
March 11, answered a call to Coretta Street in reference to an affray. Complainant stated a subject had busted his lip. The subject left the residence before an officer arrived and was advised they could press charges.
March 8, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report a theft that occurred on Joe Crapps Road. The complainant stated approximately $20,000.00 worth of bee production material, which included breeder hives and queen-
producing material, had been stolen. Investigation continues.
March 9, answered a call to Beatrice Lane in reference to a theft. A complainant stated a subject that had stayed in her home had taken her T.V., Nike shoes and also money from money jars. Investigation continues.
March 11, answered a call to Altamaha School Road in reference to a farming accident. A local farmer was caught by the frame of his tractor and dragged before the tractor was stopped. Appling EMS and Altamaha First Responders responded to scene. The victim was transported to Appling HealthCare ER for treatment.
March 12, a routine traffic stop on Hwy. 341 resulted in the arrest of Christopher Busby, age 27, of Baxley. Busby was charged with driving without a license on person, failure to drive within a single lane, drugs to be kept in original container and VGCS/Xanax.
March 12, answered a call to Melton Chapel Church Road in reference to illegal dumping. There is an ongoing investigation of trash dumped and a State Ranger was notified. Investigation continues.
March 13, answered a call to Dupe Herndon Road in reference to a suicide attempt. A subject was transported to Appling ER for treatment and was later transported to Georgia Regional.
March 13, answered a call to Cook Street in reference to a theft. An investigation led to the arrest of Jennifer Benitez, age 31, of Baxley. Benitez was charged with theft by taking.
March 13, answered a call to Clifton Crosby Road in reference to a burglary. The complainant stated a subject pried the door to residence to gain entry. Nothing appeared to be missing at time of report. Investigation continues.
March 14, answered a call to Ten Mile Road in reference to an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle had been in the location for over seven days and due to no attempt by owner to move the vehicle, the vehicle was towed.
March 14, a complainant came to sheriff’s office to report harassment. The complainant stated her ex-boyfriend continues to make threatening phone calls and sends text messages to her.
March 15, a routine traffic stop on Graham-Zoar Road resulted in the arrest of Grant Melton Hall, age 22, of Baxley. Hall was charged with taillight required and VGCSA/possession of controlled substance.
