The Appling County Heritage Center is searching for the descendents of the Hon. Seaborn Hall, a pioneer of Appling County. Seaborn has been selected to be placed on the Heritage Center’s “Hall of Fame”. The induction ceremony will be held April 13, 2013 at the Graham United Methodist Church in Graham at 2:00 p.m. All descendents and relatives are invited to attend.
A.C. Heritage Center seeks descendants and relatives of the Honerable Seaborn Hall
Seaborn was one of the most influential pioneers of early Appling County. He served as both Representative and Senator from the area. He founded the city of Graham after the completion of the Macon to Brunswick Railroad in 1870.
Seaborn’s children were John Franklin Hall who married Mary A Motley; Elizabeth Hall, who married Lemuel Sellers; Alfred Hall, who died in 1864 in Richmond, Virginia of smallpox; Adeline Hall, who married Middleton Graham and then after his death married John Jonathon Davis; Lucinda Hall, who was first married to Capt. Osgood A. Lee, who was killed in 1862 in the battle of Seven Pines and then married Willis Clary, the founder of Jesup; Alston Hall marriage record not found) and Seaborn Hall Junior, who married Emily Rogers.
From these children his descendents were residents of Wayne, Appling, Jeff Davis, Bacon and Telfair Counties.
Bill Bowers of Baxley will perform a first person impression of Seaborn in period dress as part of the program.
