Homer “Pee Wee” Varnadore, 75, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013. Pee Wee was born Dec. 13, 1937 in Jeff Davis County to the late Homer Green Varnadore and the late Daisy Mae McDaniel Varnadore. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Varnadore was retired from AKZO. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, gardener and a provider. Pee Wee was preceded in death by his sister, Doretha Wills.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Varnadore of Baxley; two daughters and son-in-law, Debbie and Wesley Stone and Regina Todd, all of Baxley; two sons and daughters-in-law, Reggie and Connie Varnadore of Jesup and Will and Heidi Varnadore of Baxley; two sisters, Opal Gray of Illinois and Ettie Mae Vaughn of Baxley; four brothers, Jay Varnadore of Dublin, Lonnie Varnadore, Ezra Varnadore, both of Baxley and Dolvin Varnadore of Illinois; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26 from Swain Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. John R. Hutto, Sr. and Lester Weldon officiating. Eulogy was given by Ezra Varnadore. Interment followed in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Bart Todd, John Todd, Cameron Varnadore, Don Wischmeier, Michael Morris and Alan Larson.
Honorary pallbearers were members of Church of God of Prophecy and all family and friends in attendance.
Musical selections were rendered by Mary Hutto and Jerry Kersey.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
