It is a shame
It seems one can hardly watch the news anymore without hearing about a school teacher having an affair with a student. Usually it is a good looking female teacher waylaying an unsuspecting young man but I can’t say the same for their young male victims and this puzzles me. I never had a vivacious lady teacher when I went to school or maybe it’s just that my mind was on possum nests and bream beds back then.
It is a shame what some teachers will do with the power they wield over the young and I did have one female teacher who made me an indecent proposal. It seems I was two points shy of passing and she knew I wanted out of her class at all costs. She had me right where she wanted me and she knew it. She let me know that if I would take her daughter to a dance the next Saturday night I would get the two points I needed.
This teacher was not a 10, she wasn’t even a two, and her daughter looked just like her but I wanted to get out of chemistry really bad. I swallowed my pride and said yes, but I didn’t sell out cheap. I asked for five extra points.
It also seems to never fail that when a male politician gets too self-righteous he always gets caught fooling around and usually it’s with the help. Their staff workers must really be good looking (they were probably teachers in their former jobs.) Humble isn’t the word for some of these poor politicians when they get found out.
The Governor of South Carolina was all over the news when he disappeared for 5 days. It seemed the whole world was worried about him but then the real news came out. He had been kidnapped by a beautiful Argentinean terrorist and held captive for 5 days. No, make that three days. It took him 1 day to fly down there and get captured and 1 day to tear loose and fly back so he was really only held captive for 3 days but those three days were hell. Upon escaping and returning home his only comment was, “It was like hiking the Appalachian Trail barefooted.”
I heard about a big TV preacher in Atlanta who fathered his own brother’s child. He kept right on preaching like he was innocent of any wrong doing. His excuse was, “she shouldn’t have been there when I needed her.”
I know I am human and could stray off the path if circumstances were to overwhelm me and if I got caught I would get humble, admit my mistake, and move on. That is, of course, unless prison time was involved and in that case I would do what any self respecting politician would do and lie like a rug.
