Robert H. “Mann” Herrin passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Wayne Memorial Hospital under the care of Hospice of South GA. He was a native of Wayne County, living most of his life in Appling County. Herrin was a retired farmer and worked as a mechanic with Union Camp for 33 years. He was a member of Memorial Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Betty Jean Herrin of Surrency; one brother, Thomas and wife Ima Dean Herrin of Baxley; one brother-in-law, Ed Bowers of Baxley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 29 at 2:00 p.m. from Memorial Freewill Baptist Church with the Pastor Karl Sexton, Reverend Darrell Quinn and Reverend R.M. Warren officiating. Interment followed in Memorial Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation was held Monday, January 28 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the David E. Miles Chapel of Miles-Nobles Funeral Home.
Active Pallbearers were Alen Dykes, Dustin Crosby, Cody Bruce, James Godwin, Andy West, Darrell Dykes, Don Pye and Jack Pye.
Honorary Pallbearers were all friends in attendance.
Music was by James Herrin.
