Appling County man enters plea to aggravated child molestation, gets 25 years
District Attorney Jackie Johnson announces the conviction and sentence of 29 year-old Christopher Aaron O’Berry of Baxley for Aggravated Child Molestation.
The charges stemmed from the November 2011 sexual assault of a child under the age of sixteen.
Superior Court Judge E.M. Wilkes, III accepted O’Berry’s plea of guilty and sentenced him to serve twenty-five (25) years in prison followed by life on probation. O’Berry will be required to register as a Sex Offender upon his release from prison.
Assistant District Attorney Jan Kennedy presented the case for the State and Attorney Sophia Buter represented the defendant.
The District Attorney’s Office would like to thank Deputy Jason Carter and the Appling County Sheriff’s Office for the investigation of the case.
