Sheriff Benny Deloach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
Feb. 8, a routine traffic stop on Spell Street led to the arrest of Tyler K. Cauley, 26, of Baxley. Cauley was charged with possession of marijuana, driving while license withdrawn, drugs to be kept in original container and adult seatbelt violation.

Feb. 13, investigation led to the arrest of Christopher Lee Barwick, 31, of Baxley, in connection with a theft that occurred on River Ridge Road. Barwick was charged with theft by deception and theft by taking.
Feb. 15, a routine traffic stop on East Allen Street/Faison Street resulted in the arrest of Terry Dewayne Thomas, 45, of Baxley. Thomas was arrested and charged with VGCSA-cocaine with the intent to distribute, driving while unlicensed, seatbelt violation and obstruction. Thomas is currently being held in the Appling County Detention Center.
Feb. 15, a routine traffic stop on U.S. 1 North resulted in the arrest of Rhonda Michele Worrell, 39, and Jonathan Lee Watson, 41, both of Baxley. Both Worrell and Watson were arrested and charged with VGCSA-possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects.
Feb. 16, answered a call on Chad Claxton Street in reference to shots being fired. Once officers arrived, they concluded that a white male had broken into a home. The homeowner woke up while the offender was inside the home and the offender fled on foot. The homeowner fired his rifle, but didn’t hit the offender. After further investigation, Thomas Leggett, 25, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with burglary.

Feb. 7, answered a call to Red Dot Road in reference to a theft. Complainant stated he believes his gun a .50-caliber muzzle-loader with scope has been stolen. Investigation continues.
Feb. 13, answered a call to Foster Steadham Road in reference to a theft. The complainant stated items valued over $1,000.00 were stolen from his deceased father-in-laws residence. Investigation continues.
Feb. 9, answered a call to Piney Grove Church Road in reference to an accident. The Appling EMS responded and the victim was taken to Appling County Health Care for injuries.
Feb. 9, a routine traffic stop on Hwy. 1 South led to the arrest of Billy Joe Manord, of Denton. Manord, passenger of vehicle, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance and drugs to be kept in original container.
Feb. 13, answered a call to Quincy Lane in reference to a burglary. The complainant stated unknown person(s) entered a back door of the residence and took TV’s, computers, IPOD, stereo, jewelry and loose change valued at approximately $3,500.00. Investigation continues.
Feb. 9, answered a call to Daisy Lane in reference to damage to property. The complainant stated unknown person(s) had broken into his office. Damage was done to the door, but nothing appeared to be missing at this time.
Feb. 10, answered a call to Gail Street in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated unknown person(s) had tried to gain entry to the back porch of his residence damaging the screen wire.
Feb. 10, answered a call to Spring Branch Church Road in reference to a theft. The complainant stated his ex-wife entered his residence, stole his washer and dryer and sold it.
Feb. 11, answered a call to Nails Ferry Road in reference to a domestic dispute. Two subjects had an altercation when officers arrived one of the subjects stated he would leave the residence.
Feb. 11, answered a call to Holt Rentz Road in reference to harassing phone calls. The complainant stated her ex-husband continues to make harassing phone calls and threats towards her.
Feb. 11, answered a call to NE Tillman Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A husband and a wife had a verbal dispute. When officer arrived the husband agreed to leave the residence for the night.
Feb. 11, answered a call to Poor Robin Road in reference to an abandoned motorcycle. The complainant stated he found a Kawasaki motorcycle on his property that did not belong to him. Investigation continues.
Feb. 11, answered a call to Asbury Church Road in reference to a theft. Complainant stated missing from her purse is $100.00 in cash. Complainant believes a family member may have taken the money.
Feb. 12, answered a call to David Carter Road in reference to harassing phone calls. The complainant stated she received several phone calls from a subject asking for her credit card information and her address. Please be careful. This is a scam. Do not give out your personal information over the phone.
Feb. 12, answered a call to Cadillac Drive in reference to a domestic. A husband and a wife had an altercation. The wife and child agreed to leave the residence.
Husband left the residence before officer arrived.
Feb. 13, answered a call to Appling ER in reference to child neglect. Personnel stated a five-month old child was brought in with a fracture to his skull and no one knew how it happened. The child was transported to Memorial Hospital in Savannah for further Treatment. The DFACS was notified and case is under investigation.
Feb. 13, answered a call to John Lanes in reference to a burglary. The complainant stated unknown person(s) entered his residence and took jewelry valued over $1000.00. Investigation continues.
Feb. 14, answered a call to Hutcheson Road in reference to damage to property. Complainant stated her friend got mad with her and got into his vehicle and rammed his vehicle into the back of her vehicle. The friend left the residence before officer arrived.
Feb. 14, answered a call to Lamar Black Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The dispute occurred between two brothers.
