Brown Funeral Home announces the death and funeral services of Susie Ann Miller Hansley who died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 at Southeast Georgia Health System – Brunswick Campus in Brunswick. Mrs. Hansley was born in Baxley, Appling County, on May 22, 1962 to the late Joseph Miller, Sr. and the late Gladys Calhoun Collins. She was united in holy matrimony to Willie James Hansley. Mrs. Hansley attended Appling County Comprehensive High School in Baxley and for many years was employed at the Comfort Inn and Suite Hotel in Brunswick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Moses Miller and Sallie Miller and brother, Daniel Miller.
Survivors include her husband, Willie James Hansley of Hazlehurst; children, Maurice Sanchez Hansley of Douglas, Samantha Latoya Hansley of Atlanta and Gaveale Ramone Hansley of Orlando, FL; goddaughter, Quateshia Yvonne Robinson of Hazlehurst; two sisters, Mary Ann (Phillip) Collins of Jesup and Mary Ann (Pete) Smith of Tampa, FL; five brothers, H. J. (Lanira) Miller of Columbia, S.C., Joseph Miller, Jr. of Baxley, Elex (Jackie) Miller of Savannah, Lee Artis (Kim) Williams of Baxley and Wendal (Laricia) Williams of Atlanta; six aunts, Mildred Cain of Glennville, Betty Richardson, Almaree Miller, Betty Miller and Lynette Holmes, all of Baxley and Nora Lee Calhoun of Ludowici; four uncles, Roosevelt Calhoun of Ft. Pierce, FL, Warren (Charlene) Calhoun of Cobbtown, Willard Jackson and Gregory (Sadie) Russell, all of Baxley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn (Kenneth) Glover, Joe (Angela) Hansley, Sr., Patricia (Earl) Jones, Brenda Hansley, Johnnie Lee Hansley, Tim Hansley and Glenn Hansley; grandchildren: Tallanis, Ariyana, Samya, (T-lady), Zoey, Kentonn Hansley, A’Mya and Quetin (Boo-Bae) Lewis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and countless friends.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 from the Upper Room Church of Christ Holiness Unto the Lord, Inc. in Baxley with the Rev. Kenneth Glover officiating and Elder Gregory Russell presiding. Interment followed in Old Field Memorial Gardens of Baxley.
Active pallbearers were Timothy Russell, Jeffrey Miller, Glenn Hansley Michael Miller, Michael Coley, Ferrell Brantley and Mario Hansley.
Honorary pallbearers were doctors and staff of Glynn Memorial.
Musical selections were rendered by the Overcomers Tabernacle Praise Team, Jeremnick Russell and the choir.
Arrangements were under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
