Aurelian C. Miles, 60, died January 19, 2013 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center at Riverside Jacksonville, FL. Aurelian was born July 15, 1952 in Baxley to Joe Frank Miles, Sr. and the late Jimmie Hicks Miles West. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Miles was in the Georgia National Guard, a retired construction superintendent and an avid fisherman. He was a lifelong resident of Appling County.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Joby Miles.
Survivors include his wife, Gretchen Miles; one daughter, Jennifer Miles of Baxley; one son, Anthony Miles of Baxley; one sister, Stephana M. (Mike) Carter of Baxley; four grandchildren, Eli, Reagan, Maelee and Brayden and nine nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23 from Swain Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Sellers, the Rev. Thad Harvey and the Rev. Tommy Daniels officiating. Interment followed in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jack Shuman, Stanley Johnson, Randy Sellers, Devin Edwards, Stan White, Mike Holland, Warren Stewart and Jeff Baxley.
Musical selections were rendered by David Williams, Brittany Beckworth and Floyd Hunter.
