Doris H. Bryant, 89, of Hazlehurst, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Community Hospice in Vidalia.
Mrs. Bryant was born August 19, 1923 in Jeff Davis County and was the last of the twelve children born to John F. Herrington and Sara Frances Walls Herrington. She was previously employed by Malloy Pharmacy and Jeff Davis Pharmacy and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew “Son” Bryant, Jr. and her siblings Gordon Herrington, Alice Lee “Doll” Brantley, Georgie Ann Padgett, Helen Russell, Lucille Collins, Irene Frances Ellis, Mary Etta Herrington, Rosa Mae Williams, Ethel Ingle, Opal Trawick and Martha Eudene Trawick.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sherry (Roy) Woods of Hazlehurst; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony (Hilda) Bryant and Bobby (Karrie Lee) Bryant, all of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Jonathan Arnold of Tulsa, OK, Amanda Lytle, Christopher Bryant, Keri Bryant and Nathaniel Bryant all of Hazlehurst; great-grandchildren, Wesley Peyton Brown, Brye Travis Woods and Makayla Lynn Arnold.
Funeral Services were held Friday, January 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Dr. Ben Glosson and the Rev. Charles Carter officiating. Interment followed in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers were Doug Trawick, Greg Williams, Roger Ogilvie, Christopher Bryant, Nathaniel Bryant and Jonathan Arnold.
Honorary Pallbearers were all friends in attendance.
Musical selections were rendered by Jimmie Ryles, Solita Miles, Gene Moeykens, Vernon Thompson, Pat Bryant, Vernice Lopez and Glenda Quarterman.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
