Dec. 28, a welfare check was requested to the residence on April Lane in reference to children being mistreated. Officer responded and notified DFACS .
Dec. 28, answered a call to Appling ER in reference to a shooting accident. The victim stated he had a gun propped against the wall when his dog came into the room and hit the gun causing it fall. The gun fired striking the victim in the leg.
Dec. 29, a routine traffic stop resulted in the arrest of five subjects. William Russell Hutto, 22, of Baxley, was charged with DUI, failure to drive within single lane, open container, Christopher James Kersey, 18, of Baxley, was charged with possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and possession of alcoholic beverage below legal age, Durez Alfonzo Mumford, 24, of Baxley, was charged with open container, Marcus Anthony Truax, 17, of Baxley, was charged with possession of alcoholic beverage below legal age, Jennifer Lynn Durrance, 24, of Baxley, was charged with open container in vehicle.
Dec. 29, answered a call to Scott Drive in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated his ex-girlfriend came to his residence broke items in his home and keyed his vehicles.
Dec. 30, a welfare check was requested on a subject with a small child. The check was done on a mother and a child on Satilla Church Road and was found to be fine.
Dec. 30, answered a call to Altamaha School Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated her boyfriend made threats toward her and physically tried to hurt her. The boyfriend had left the residence before officer arrived.
Dec. 31, answered a call to Ten Mile Highway in reference to forged checks. Forged checks from Pooler were cashed at a local convenience store. The case is still under investigation.
Dec. 31, a traffic stop on Phillipi Church Road resulted in the arrest of Darvin Tyler Harris, 41, of Baxley. Harris was charged with DUI and possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
Jan. 1, answered a call to Hilltop Road in reference to an affray that resulted in the arrest of Emilio Ventura Perez, 23, of Baxley, and David Charles Portalatin, 25, of Baxley. Perez and Portalatin were charged with disorderly conduct.
Jan. 2, answered a call to Piney Grove Church Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated taken from his Kenworth truck parked on his property was batteries and diesel fuel value at approximately $1,000.00. Investigation continues.
Jan. 2, answered a call to Old Surrency Road in reference to vandalism. The complainant stated someone had egged her vehicle.
Jan. 3, answered a call to Satilla Church Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated unknown person(s) had taken his syrup boiler valued at $750.00. Investigation continues.
