New officials sworn in, ready to go to work Jan. 1
On December 28, 2012, a special swearing in ceremony was held at the Appling County Courthouse to swear in a number of newly elected and reelected officials. Appling County Probate Court Judge Diane Hallman conducted the ceremony.

A LOT OF SWEARING
Sworn in were Appling County Sheriff Benny Deloach, Tax Commissioner Debra Carter, County Commissioners Theodore Wilkerson and Ronnie Rentz (not present was Charlie Leggett due to being sick), Board of Education Members Cindy Tomberlin, Jeffery Miller and Randy Crawford, Coroner Jared Murphy, Deputy Coroner Henry Jones and Surveyor Jerry Tomberlin. Appling County Clerk of Court Floyd Hunter was also not present due to sickness.
