Sheriff Benny Deloach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
On Dec. 13, a complainant came to the Appling County Sheriff’s Office to report domestic violence. The complainant stated she and her husband had an altercation and he made threats against her.
Dec. 14, answered a call to Chad Claxton Street in reference to a domestic. The complainant stated he and his sister had an altercation and his sister left the residence before officer arrived.
Dec. 14, a routine traffic stop on Lawanna Street resulted in the arrest of Robert Gene Monk, Jr., 36, of Baxley. Monk was charged with possession of drug related objects, driving without license, obstruction of officer, open container and no seatbelt.
Dec. 14, answered a call to Asbury Church Road in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated unknown person(s) had entered the parsonage damaging a door and window. Nothing appeared to be missing at time of report. Investigation continues.
Dec. 15, answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to a theft. A complainant stated several Nintendo games went missing from his residence after some of his friends came for a visit.
Dec. 15, during the process of serving a warrant on a subject, the subject was found in possession of marijuana. Lennal Jerimiah Dasher, 20, was arrested for a probation violation, and possession, manu., distribution, V.G.C.S.A./marijuana.
Dec. 15, complainants came to the sheriff’s office to report threats. The complainant stated threats had been made to her boyfriend via Facebook.
Dec. 15, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report harassing text messages. The complainant stated she was receiving harassing text messages from her children’s father.
Dec. 15, answered a call to Azalea Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated his Sullivan trashcan had been taken.
Dec. 16, answered a call to Appling ER in reference to an affray that occurred on Buckhead Road, which led to the arrest of Jeremy Deran Beckworth, 28, of Baxley. Beckworth was charged with aggravated battery.
Dec. 17, answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to criminal damage to property. The complainant stated unknown person(s) had kicked in his back door damaging the door. The complainant stated nothing appeared to be missing from inside the residence.
Dec. 18, answered a call to Hoppy Trail in reference to a possible attempted suicide. The subject stated he had thoughts of killing himself. The subject was transported to Appling ER for evaluation.
Dec. 18, answered a call to Orvin Road in reference to damage to property. The complainant stated unknown person(s) had crushed his fire barrel and threw trash all over his back yard.
Dec. 18, answered a call to McClure Lane in reference to an unresponsive subject. Upon arrival Appling EMS was transporting victim to Appling ER for treatment. Family members stated victim has had an extended illness.
Dec. 18, answered a call to James Stanfield Road in reference to an affray. The subjects had been in an altercation and left the residence before officer arrived. Both parties were advised they could pursue taking warrants.
Dec. 18, answered a call to David Carter Road in reference to a theft. The complainant stated when answering door a known subject barged their way into her residence and took several items valued at $240.00.
Dec. 19, answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to a burglary. The complainant stated unknown person(s) had broken into the Christ Community Church. Church members checked the church but nothing appeared to be missing at the time of report. Investigation continues.
Dec. 19, answered a call to Appling ER in reference to a dog bite that occurred on Miles Beckworth Road. The victim stated while attempting to deliver a package she was bitten by homeowners Pittbull dog and received stitches in the leg as a result. The homeowner was notified that dog would have to be pinned up for at least ten days.
Dec. 19, a routine traffic stop on U.S. Highway 1 North by the Georgia State Patrol with Appling County Sheriff’s Office assisting with K-9 Unit resulted in the arrest of Russell Taylor Turk, 31, of San Diego, CA and Brooke Niles, 33, of San Diego, CA. Turk was charged with speeding and DUI/Drugs, and Niles was charged with possession of marijuana.
Dec. 20, answered a call to Hatch Parkway North in reference to a theft. A complainant stated unknown person(s) had broken into his vehicle and stolen all of the radio equipment, CD player, speakers and TV. Investigation continues.
