Board Attorney Graham Floyd asked Fogarty if the group has insurance and Fogarty presented Floyd with a copy of a policy. Floyd also asked if the group had considered the Baxley City Gymnasium. Fogarty stated that the City Gymnasium would only seat around 200 and has no concession area.
Board Member Scottie Ammons asked if the group supplied security and would be able to keep people from entering other parts of the school during an event. Fogarty stated that they have both paid and volunteer security at the events. He also added that the group would make certain that the gym floor would be covered to prevent damage to the floor and that the group would be responsible for all clean up following an event.
Board Member Randy Sellers stated that he would like to look at more information regarding the event before making a decision. Attorney Floyd concurred and added that he would like to look further at the system’s insurance coverage to see if this type of event would void coverage and also look at potential terms of a contract.
