Baylee Elizabeth Brewer, 9, of Surrency, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. Baylee was born Sept. 19, 2003. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Baylee was a third grade student at Fourth District Elementary School where she was in the Show Choir was on high honor roll and received the President’s Award.
She was preceded in death by an uncle, Chris Turner, aunt, Penny Rebecca Turner, great-grandparents, Emory and Lillie Turner, great-grandmother, Helen Stone, great-grandfather, James Hall and great-grandmother, Grace Brewer.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Angela and Chris Murray of Surrency; her father and stepmother, Caleb and Pam Brewer of Blackshear; three sisters, Lillie Brewer, Raigen Murray and Skylar Murray, all of Surrency; four brothers, Austin Brewer of Surrency, Nathan Brewer of Blackshear, and Auden Murray and Chance Murray, both of Surrency; maternal grandparents, Ronnie and Joyce Turner; paternal grandfather, Jimmy Brewer; Patty and Johnny Batten; maternal great-grandmother, Thelma Herndon; and paternal great-grandfather, Willis Brewer.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Nov. 10 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with the Reverends Fred Anderson, Darrell Quinn, and Loren Bryant officiating. Interment followed in Tomberlin-Paulk Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Landon Carter, Rusty Weaver, Kaden Graham and Cody Hallman.
Honorary pallbearers were Encore Cheer Team, Fourth District faculty and students, and Awanas from Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
Musical selections were rendered by Heather Quinn and the Show Choir.
Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
