Edward “Ed” Tillman, 87, of Jesup, died Saturday, October 6, in the Golden Living Center after an extended illness. The Wayne County, native was a member of the Church of Christ, a retired City of Jesup employee, and a volunteer with the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. His wife, Marguerita Armstrong Tillman, predeceased him.
Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane (Steve) Williams, Jacquie (Billy) Roland, both of Jesup; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe (Shirley Goss) Tillman, John Ed (Julie) Tillman, both of Marietta; six grandchildren, Joe Tillman, Jr., John Priester Tillman, Billy Roland, Jr., Scotty John Roland, Steven “Eugene” Williams, Jr., Sheila Williams; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 10, at the Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Mark Ward officiating. Interment was in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers were grandchildren.
Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
