The Appling County Pirates (5-1-1 overall, 3-1 Region 1-AAA) hosted the Brantley County Herons for Homecoming on Friday, October 12 with the Pirates winning 35-6.
The Pirates will travel to Savannah on Friday, October 19 to play the Beach Bulldogs (1-5, 1-2) at Grayson Stadium with the game scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 6-58 loss to Tattnall County (4-3, 3-1).
Scoring recap
The first score of the game came on the Pirates first offensive play, an 85-yard touchdown run by Jordan Vann. Israel Jaramillo added the extra point to make the score 7-0 with 5:51 left in the first quarter.
The next score was a 20-yard touchdown pass from Quarterback Jason Dhaliwal to Justin Moore to make the score 13-0 with 9:23 remaining in the second quarter.
Moore added the next score on a five-yard touchdown run. Moore also ran in the two-point conversion attempt to make the score 21-0 with 5:56 remaining in the second quarter.
Moore added his third touchdown of the night on the Pirates next possession, a 32-yard run to make the score, with the extra point, 28-0 with 3:29 remaining in the second quarter.
The next score was a 67-yard touchdown run by Pirate Anthony Rayner on the Pirates first possession of the second half to make the score, with the extra point, 35-0 with 11:36 remaining in the third quarter.
The Herons scored their touchdown on a one-yard run with 4:44 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Pirates blocked the extra point to make the final score 35-6.
