Golf course meeting scheduled

A special meeting has been scheduled for Monday, October 22, at 6:00 p.m., in order for the new owners of the local golf course to garner ideas and input from the community about the course. The local course is calling citizens, golfers and business leaders to come to the public meeting to help grow the course and community. The meeting will be held at Woody Folsom Lodge at Lake Mayers (formerly known as Park Avenue Lodge).

The new owners believe that the course is a place to promote recreation for all ages and provide a venue for local schools to play golf. They also believe that a golf course can attract and develop travel and tourism to Baxley and Appling County, as well as industrial growth.
