Sheriff Benny Deloach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
On September 5, answered a call to Torrance Road in reference to a theft. The complainant stated she had several items taken from her residence valued at approximately $200.00. Investigation continues.
Sept. 6, answered a call to Spring Branch Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated that a subject was living in a mobile home she owned and asked the subject to move. The complainant stated items were taken from mobile home that did not belong to him. Investigators met with the subject and items were returned to the complainant. The complainant was satisfied and did not want to press charges.
Sept. 7, answered a call to Bass Reef Road in reference to a child custody dispute. An ex-wife went to pick up her child from the residence and was not allowed to get the child.
Sept. 7, answered a call to Rosewood Lane in reference to harassment. The complainant stated she received harassing phone calls.
Sept. 8, answered a call to Alpine Drive in reference to trespassing. The complainant stated unwanted subjects came to her residence. The subjects left the residence before the officer arrived.
Sept. 8, answered a call to Clyde Road in reference to a forgery. The complainant stated her daughter’s social security check was taken; her name was forged and the check was cashed. Investigation continues.
Sept. 8, answered a call to Quincy Lane in reference to a domestic dispute. A complainant stated he and his grandson had an altercation. The grandson left the residence before officer arrived. The complainant stated he did not want to press charges.
Sept. 8, answered a call to Bass Reef Road in reference to a child custody incident. The complainant stated his ex-wife refused to let him have his child for his weekend visitation.
Sept. 9, answered a call to Hilltop Road in reference to a dispute. The granddaughter stated she and her grandmother had a verbal dispute.
Sept. 9, answered a call to Beaver Road in reference to a domestic dispute. A brother and a sister had an altercation. Both parties agreed to settle their disagreement before officer left the residence.
Sept. 10, received a call from Appling ER in reference to a child. The responding officer met with the complainant. The complainant stated she suspected her thirteen-year-old daughter had involvement with an eighteen-year-old male. Investigation led to the arrest of Israel Ramirez, 18, of Baxley. Ramirez was charged with child molestation.
Sept. 12, answered a call to Ten Mile Road of Surrency in reference to a prowler. The complainant stated she heard someone knocking on the front of her trailer. Responding officers searched the area and nothing was found.
Sept. 12, answered a call to Rozier Road in reference to an abandoned vehicle. The abandoned vehicle was found parked in roadway. Owner came and the vehicle was released.
Sept. 12, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report a theft on Buckhead Road. The complainant stated unknown person(s) pried open back door to residence, entered and removed two air condition units, an old metal wheel, and muffler from a motorcycle. Value of items taken is approximately $900.00. Investigation continues.
Sept. 12, answered a call to Perry Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated her Craftsman riding lawn mower valued at approximately $1,500.00 had been stolen from her residence. Investigation continues.
Sept. 12, answered a call to Max Deen Drive in reference to a dog problem. A complainant stated her neighbor’s two Pit-bull dogs attacked her dog, leaving injuries to her dog.
