County Manager Lee Lewis informed The News-Banner on Monday that the Appling County Sheriff’s Department will be making random visits to the Ernest J. Parker Park area during the week of September 24. The department will be working to eliminate the vulture problem that has taken over the park. Gunshots will be fired.
Lewis stated that the Appling County Commissioners apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause to residents. The sheriff’s department will be working under a Federal Permit that is held by the county to eliminate this problem.
