Ballet Magnificat!, which has toured extensively nationally and internationally for the last 25 years, now brings the unforgettable ballet, Deliver Us!, to the Appling County Fine Arts Building, located at Appling County High School. This riveting ballet, set to the music of Dreamworks’ The Prince of Egypt, portrays an enslaved people led to hope, making this story jump off the stage and into your life.
Under the blazing Egyptian sun within the shadow of the pyramids, the enslaved Jewish people cry out for a deliverer. One man, Moses, challenges Pharaoh and leads the people to freedom - a vivid prophetic picture pointing to the Easter story of what Jesus Christ did on Calvary.
Deliver Us, celebrated throughout the United States and admired in countries as distant as Greece, Czech Republic and Singapore, is now coming to Baxley.
Ballet Magnificat! will set the performance in motion with The Arrival. Choreographed by Tara Drew. The Arrival is an encouraging piece that intends to move the audience to a place where they are eagerly waiting the arrival of the Lord and persevering through this life through faith. This piece is set to the music of Kristene Mueller and Phil Wickham.
The Arts Council of Appling County is proud to sponsor Ballet Magnificat! and this special performance on September 11 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the Baxley, Alma and Hazlehurst Chamber of Commerce offices, at Jada’s and Musicians Place or from any Arts Council member.
