Pre-Disaster meeting planned for August 23
The Appling County Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee will hold a kick-off meeting on Thursday, August 23 at 2:00 p.m.
The hearing will be held at the Appling County EMA office in Baxley (259 West Parker Street).
The purpose of the meeting is to inform citizens about the Pre-Disaster Mitigation Planning process that is taking place in Appling County. Citizens will be briefed on the upcoming development of a Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan for Appling County that will better prepare the community for natural disasters and reduce the damage should one occur.
Citizens will be given the opportunity for input concerning the preparation of the plan.
All interested parties are invited and encouraged to attend.
