ACREA honors twenty-five year teaching veterans
At the August 1 Countywide Meeting for all school system employees, the Appling County Retired Educators Association honored those educators who had completed their 25th year. Certificates of appreciation were presented by former ACREA President Patsy Buchannan and James Twiggs, GREA Membership Director.
The following educators received certificates: Janda Morris, Stephanie Mincey, Debra Crosby, Debra Carter, Sandra Upchurch, Cecelia Reese, Pamela Johnson, Tamara Giddens, Trudy Greenway, Scarlett Copeland, Ann Rush, Vickie Williams, Charles Davis, Ann Milton and Brenda Harvey. Certificates were based on 25 years of loyal and dedicated service in the field of education. ACREA thanks all system employees for their hard work and hopes that the 2012-2013 school year is the best ever!
ACREA will host the Area V and VI Meeting on August 23 at the Church of God Fellowship Hall, in Baxley. Approximately 100 retired educators from 17 South Georgia counties will attend. A country store will be held to help generate funds to support the Georgia Education Museum. ACREA members are asked to donate items to be sold at the country store. Donated items are needed prior to the August 23 event. If you have questions about the type of items to bring, please contact Val Rump.
Retired educators are reminded to pay their membership dues by September 12.
Questions about state dues need to be referred to James Twiggs. ACREA local dues of $15.00 can be mailed to Elizabeth Dunn.
