Kandiss Sharpe Miles of Baxley was wed to Carlas Ryan Taylor of Hazlehurst on May 20. The wedding was held at El Bethel Church in Hazlehurst, where Ryan is a worship leader. Pastors Brett and Kim Roberts officiated the ceremony.
Parents of the bride are Van Sharpe and Wayne and Tammy Canady of Baxley. Maternal grandparents are Thurmon and Ettie Mae Vaughn of Baxley, and paternal grandparents are the late Roy and Bonnie Sharpe also of Baxley.
Parents of the groom are Carl and Rhonda Taylor or Hazlehurst. Maternal grandparents are Malcom and Jessie Mae Varnadoe of Lumber City, and paternal grandparents are Jeanette Taylor Powell and the late Wiley Taylor of Hazlehurst.
The bride is a graduate of Appling County High School, three time graduate of Georgia Southern University (bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and master’s and specialist’s degrees in School Counseling), and is finishing up her Ph.D. in Counseling and Supervision at Regent University. Kandi is employed with the Appling County Board of Education and serves in the capacity of school counselor for the Appling County Primary School. The groom is a graduate of Jeff Davis County High School, a graduate of South Georgia College (associate’s degree in General Studies), and a graduate of Savannah School of Art and Design (SCAD) with a bachelor’s degree in Sound Design. Ryan is employed with Jeff Davis County Board of Education as a Technology Specialist and owns and operates his own recording studio, Ryan Taylor Music, LLC. Ryan produced and recorded his first album “Heart of the Believer” in 2009, and he is currently recording his first worship album.
The couple plans to reside in Appling County.
