Four Appling County 4-H’ers had the honor of attending the 70th Annual State 4-H Congress in Atlanta on July 24-27. Those attending were Cuyler Collins, Terrence Gibson, Katlyn Hall, and Zachary Higginbotham.

Hall Masters in 4-H Project
These 4-H’ers competed in their projects in February at District Project Achievement at Rock Eagle and won a trip to the state competition this summer.
Katlyn Hall placed first in state in the Food Safety and Preservation project and earned 4-H Master status. She will attend National Congress in Atlanta in November.
Cuyler competed in the Performing Arts General project. Terrence Competed in the Performing Arts Vocal project. Zachary competed in the Sports project.
Congratulations to Katlyn for her accomplishments in 4-H. She has worked very hard on her project for three years with determination to become a Master 4-H’er in the Food Safety and Preservation project. Master status is the highest accomplishment a 4-H’er can achieve. It has been ten years since an Appling County 4-H’er has achieved Master status in Project Achievement.
Katlyn is the daughter of Mike and Teresa Hall and the granddaughter of Wendell and Elizabeth Crosby and Curtis & Grace Collins and the late Jeiel Hall. Her great grandmother is Ms. Juanita Crosby. I know her family is very proud of her. The Appling County Extension staff is also very proud of her for accomplishing her goal. We know how hard she worked to get it.
