Appling Deputies have busy week
Sheriff Benny Deloach would like to report the following activity of the Appling County Sheriff’s Office.
July 28, answered a call to Copeland’s Trailer Park in reference to threatening text messages. The complainant stated she received a text message that someone was going to rob a subject. Investigation continues.
July 29, answered a call to Moody Altman Road in reference to a domestic dispute. The complainant stated that a subject had made threats against her life. The subject had left the residence before officer arrived. The complainant also left the residence until the issue could be resolved.
July 29, answered a call to Wisteria Lane in reference to a vehicle fire. The complainant stated he was having trouble with his vehicle when it caught on fire. He was unable to put the fire out and called the Baxley Fire Department.
July 29, answered a call to Alpine Drive in reference to a burglary. A complainant stated unknown person(s) had entered the United Pentecostal Church and taken two keyboards, and four guitars with an approximate value of $1,500.00. Investigation continues.
July 30, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report a theft/or lost property. An official of the City of Graham stated missing from the Graham Police Department, were some firearms and other items. The investigation has been turned over to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms.
July 30, answered a call to J W Lewis Road in reference to a motorcycle accident. Injured was taken to Appling Health Care for treatment.
July 30, answered a call to Bowen Road in reference to a theft. A complainant stated two trailer locks were cut in which unknown subject(s) gained entry and took spools of eight-gauge and four-gauge wire valued at $1,040.00. Investigation continues.
July 31, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report a theft/forgery. The complainant stated she found two checks missing from her checkbook and they had been cashed at a local store. Investigation led to warrants being secured on Jeffery Lee Cole.
July 31, answered a call on Blackshear Highway in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated that vulgar language was spray-painted on a gas tank on his property.
Aug. 1, answered a call to Sumner Road in reference to theft of service. The REA worker stated an individual was steeling power service for his residence. Investigation continues.
Aug. 1, answered a call on Hatch Parkway North in reference to a burglary. Several items were found missing from the residence including some custom jewelry and a guitar. After an investigation, Ryan Earl Williamson, 22, of Surrency, and Rebecca Mann, 27, of Baxley, were arrested and charged with burglary.
Aug. 1, answered a call at Deen’s Landing in reference to someone breaking into his truck. The vehicle had damage to the windows and someone had written on the windows with a red marker.
Aug. 1, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report harassing phone calls. The complainant stated a subject continues to call his phone making threats against him.
Aug. 2, answered a call on Deen’s Landing Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated the window was busted on his 2003 Ford truck. Also a Droid cell phone and a link were missing from the vehicle.
Aug. 2, answered a call on Oak Ridge Road in reference to damage to property. A complainant stated that someone busted out the window of her storage building.
Aug. 2, answered a call to George Craven Road in reference to a suicide attempt. A complainant stated she and her boyfriend had an argument and he took a razor blade and cut his wrist. The subject was transported by Appling EMS to Appling ER.
Aug. 2, a complainant came to the sheriff’s office to report someone had broken the windows to her rental house.
Aug. 2, answered a call to Yellow Pine Circle in reference to a theft. A complainant stated her ex-boyfriend had stolen two pool sticks and cash money valued at $530.00.
Aug. 2, a concerned citizen came to the sheriff’s office to report a subject selling beer from his residence. The case was turned over to the Altamaha Drug Task Force. James Lee Roberts, 64, of Baxley, was arrested and charged with driving while license withdrawn and unlawful transportation of alcoholic beverages.
Aug. 3, answered a call on Avery Lane in reference to damage to vehicle. The complainant stated that the driver’s door was messed up and someone may have tampered with the gas tank. The vehicle was a 1981 Chevy Caprice.
Aug. 3, answered a call on Holt Rentz Road in reference to criminal damage to property. Damaged was a 1997 Ford Expedition. The rear glass was busted and the left rear tire was cut.
Sheriff Deloach asks that if anyone notices any suspicious activity please report it to the Appling County Sheriff’s Office at 367-8120.
