Philip A. Hare, Sr., 76, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at his residence under the care of Southern Care Hospice. He was a native of North Tonawanda, NY and had lived in Appling County since 1986. Hare retired from the United States Navy after 22 years of service. He was a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church, the American Legion and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Corfu, NY.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Hare of Baxley; two daughters, Trudy Rewis and husband, Rick, of Alma and Angela Bergeron of Baxley; three sons, Philip A. Hare, Jr. and wife, Dawn, of Coco Beach, FL, Mark Joseph Hare and wife, Grace, of Chesapeake, VA and Danny Eller of Seneca, S.C.; nine grandchildren, Tara Wuttke, Bradley Eller, Daniel Eller, Tyler Howe, Jennifer Bergeron, Austin Eller, Carlie Hare, Trevor Hare and Darrin Hare; one great-grandchild, Bailey Rose; four sisters, Delores Howell, Loraine Hayes, Ruth Rupp and Sandy Stewart; and several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.
Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 14 at David E. Miles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Conger officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to memorial service.
